Change and Future

“You cannot change your future, but you can change your habits and surely your habits will change your future.” – Dr. Abdul Kalam.

Dr. Abdul Kalam, the former the President of India, is considered to be the Father of Nuclear Projects of India. After is term as the President of India, he is fully engaged in meeting young students with success theories. He is the most respected personality in India now.

Future is not certain. Still we want to shape it according to our dreams. The tragic fact is that we cannot change our future by a direct intervention. Future lies hidden beyond the horizon of today where we have no entry.
How can we shape our future? The only way to change our future is to change our habits that shape the future. What we do today is a seed that will germinate to bear fruit in the future. Hence what we do now will return to us a hundred fold in future.
So change our habits that lead to actions. It will surely change our future.
Success is counted not by the harvest but by the seeds we sow today.

Albert Einstein - Peg your life on vision

"If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or objects" - Albert Einstein

Peg your life on goal, not on men.

Happiness is your target. What will take you to happiness?
Achieving the goal can lead you to happiness.

Peg your life on goal, not men. Why?

1.       No man can ever be entrenched with the vision of another. However he tries, some elements and dimensions of the vision of another man will remain out of his reach. The larger extent of entrenchment into another’s vision is the merit of a partner. The more he is entrenched in to the vision, the better partner he is.

2.       Man is never stable. He is changing. His attitudes, likes and dislikes, approaches to life and everything that concerns him always undergo changes.
The man who owns the vision also goes through changes. The merit of vision is that it is not influenced by the attitude of man; rather it influences the character of man.
Since man is not stable and he cannot be stable, no partner in an enterprise can be expected to be with us till we reach the goal point. Always expect anyone to leave you at any point in life. You will be left alone in the midway without a direction.
Vision never leaves you in the mid air. It came to take you on its wings to the goal.

3.       Man may fail. Though this is the worst that you may experience in the race to success, it happens every now and then. I believe in the positive nature of human beings, I do not want to tell you that all men are treacherous. Still what we see often around us are not always encouraging to depend on a universal positiveness of man.
So be prepared for the worst.

There is one more reason why you should peg your life on goal.

Goal always is larger and heavier than you can carry.
So it is better to let the goal carry you.

Progress and change - George Bernard Shaw

“Progress is impossible without change and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” George Bernard Shaw

George Bernard Shaw was the well dramatist of the 20 Century. Many of his sayings are wisdom in words.

He is speaking of change. He points out three things:

1.       Progress is impossible without change
2.       A change of heart is necessary for effecting changes
3.       Without a change of mind no changes can happen and no progress is possible.

A detailed explanation fit for this quotation is available in my blog. Read @ http://professorjacobabraham.blogspot.in/2013/06/changing-to-new-heights.html

George Bernard Shaw - truths and blasphemies

“All great truths begin as blasphemies” – George Bernard Shaw.

George Bernard Shaw was the genius of the 20 C. He was a dramatist better known as GBS.
He looked at life different. He was not a conformist. So he could better the world.
His views and opinions on man matters were different from the conventional thinking and belief. He was criticized and enjoyed.
It is true that all great things begin as blasphemies. The truth that the earth is round was a blasphemy when it was first told. Many great inventions were criticized as tools of devil. In olden times, the church looked suspicious of all scientific theories. Still truth prevailed.
Jesus Christ was called a blasphemer by the Jews of the time.
Truth is always truth. No truth can be hidden or destroyed.
Truth need not be conforming to the present beliefs. Truth is not governed by beliefs of man. Truth needs no approval of man.
So all great truths begin as blasphemies. Time proves them the truth and others blasphemies.
