Eric Liddell - success

"In the dust of defeat as well as the laurels of history, there is glory to be found if one has done his best." - Eric Liddell ― 1924 Olympic Gold Medalist, Missionary

Often we are worried about failure. Failure is the haunting dream than the nagging dream of success. We hesitate to initiate because of the fear of failure.
I used to remind my audience in motivational seminars: “expect the best and be ready for the worst.”
All lived in this world have tasted at least once the bitter teeth of failure.
The way we look at failure is important. Failure is a myth. It is not a final verdict. It is only the unexpected outcome. It is only the unintended result.
Where can we find solace in failure?
If we have done our best, it is always success.
Every endeavor is measured by the effort we have put in it.
We kept the rules, persevered and work hard.
That is success.

Albert Einstein - goal

If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.” - Albert Einstein

Only success in life can produce real happiness. Success is the fulfillment of the goal. A successful life is not a wayward journey to an unknown destination. It has definite goals. It is a purposeful journey to the goal. It is an attempt to achieve the goal set before us.
Goals give life a purpose, path and destination. Every step put forward is to that destination.
Goals give meaning to life.
Goals can be short term of long term.
No life should be tied to men. For men may fail. Men may not understand your goal. It is not their goal, it is yours. Men may not act according to your expectation. Men may leave us in the middle.
Tie life to a goal. Pursue it passionately. Work hard to achieve it. Do not give up your goal even in the hardest times.
It is for fulfillment. It will never fail you.

John Wesley - man on fire

Set a man on FIRE and people will come from miles to watch him burn. – John Wesley

John Wesley was a reformist evangelist. The way he worked is amazing. (Read)
He believed in motivating people as the best way to promote his concepts.
A man on fire can ignite many. It s ignited to ignite.
Only man has the ability to leave an inheritance to his younger generation.
Investing on man is investing on generations.
Jesus Christ is the best example. He invested his time and talents on men. The process of ignition goes on.
The philosophies of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle etc. are still alive today because they were entrusted with men.
Ideas never die because men are its propagators.
Modern motivational speakers are trying to reform men so that they can reform the society.
A man on fire can set many on fire.

Winston Churchill on destination

"You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks" - Winston Churchil.

Churchill needs no introduction. He was the Prime Minister of Great Britain during the Second World War.
He was a powerful and courageous man who led the country to victory. But he was always faced with a lot of criticism.
The positive thing about him was that he was never discouraged by negative criticism. He continued to do as per his conviction. He considered that it was his life purpose to lead the country during the War.
If we listen to every criticism and answer for it, we find no time work.  Criticism will be there always. We cannot go forward after answering every criticism.
For someone who is proactive, criticism is a fellow traveler. Allow it to come along. It reminds us that we are working.

Go forward to your destination. Success is the answer to all criticisms.

Every tree is known by its fruit

Once Jesus said: "Either grant the tree to be wholesome and its fruit wholesome, or the tree poisonous and its fruit poisonous; for the tree is known by its fruit.” (Matthew 12:33)

There are many trees of the same family and class, often with the same, but produces slightly different fruits.
Some trees, though different, share the same name and appearance, produce good and bitter fruits. Good apple and crab apple are good examples. There are good grapes and wild grapes also.

Ever tree is known by the fruit, is a universal truth.
No tree can be judged good or bad by its trunk and leaves.
We have to wait till the tree bear fruit to declare a final verdict.
Some trees look good as a small plant, and it grows to a tree with beautiful green leaves.
Thick leaves and crowded branches make it grandeur to look at.
But none can say, for definite, that the tree will bear the good variant of fruit or the bad variant.
We have to wait till it bears fruit.
The tree bearing good fruit may be sustained, and the tree bearing wild fruit may be destroyed soon.

A sound judgment of a tree is always based on the fruit.
The final judgment to reckon with always comes by the fruit.
A promising bud cannot assure good fruit.
No tree with bad fruits can be sustained because the bud, leaves and the branches look good.
The fruit is the matter, it is the difference.

The same principle may be applied to all spheres of life.
It is applicable to, culture, religion, social practices, traditional values, conventions, business, political systems, educational systems, life philosophy, science, celebrations and all and all.

If the fruit of a culture is bad, let us declare it ‘wild’ and eliminate it.
There are a lot of different cultures existing in this world now. – The western, the eastern, the middle east etc. to name some in a broader sense.
There were wonderful cultures that existed in BC and the early AD.
Judge them by the fruit.

What conclusion do you make after applying the principle of ‘judging the tree by its fruit’ to political systems, religion, culture, business firms etc.

I do not wish to pronounce a judgment.
I am free thinker and wish the same for all my readers.
So come to your own conclusions.

May conclude with a piece of advice without you asking for it?

If the tree has proven to bear wild and bitter fruits during the past years, why should we plant it our land? Why should we sustain it in our land?
If the tree has proven to bear good fruits, why should we wait to plant it in our blessed land? Let us spread the good news about it and make a call to sustain it.
If the fruit is good, let the tree sustain.
If the fruit is wild and bitter, let us eliminate it.
